If you didn't know better, you'd think Missouri started playing football two seasons ago. The number of Freshman and Sophomores on their two deep depth chart is startling. Many of the sophomores on offense are not letter earners - a very green group. Defensively they have youth, but much more playing experience and seniors sprinkled in, notably at key Linebacker, Line and backfield spots. I would seem Missouri will need to lean heavily on that defense in September while the offense gets experience.
Here are my "odds of winning" picks for the year (the number in parenthisis is the SI pre-season ranking. Nebraska is 34th in SI) . . .
Florida Atlantic (93) - .95
Arkansas St (92) - .95
V Tech (5) - .2
LA-Lafeyette (116) - .95
Missouri (31) - .5 (we have played soooo poorly there recently)
T Tech (26) - .6
ISU (90) - .95
Baylor (61) - .85
OU (3) - .25
KU (23) - .7 (this may be optimistic)
KSU (69) - .9
CU (55) - .8
This adds up to 8.55.
